Tesla Energy Advisors selects only the best suppliers.
Requirements Energy Suppliers must meet to work with Tesla customers:
- All Suppliers must be approved by the Public Utility Commission in each respective state in which they work
- All Suppliers must provide contracts that are easy to understand, fair and must not contain any hidden fees or taxes
- All Suppliers must have a good reputation in the industry
- All suppliers must be in business for at least 3 years
- All Suppliers AUE works with must not have outstanding unresolved issues with any of our other customers
- All Suppliers must maintain a good credit rating (Our suppliers have an average rating of A)
Although not mandated, many of our suppliers own generation assets and pipeline capacity which often lead to the lowest prices available in the market
Suppliers that are not working with Tesla Energy Advisors:
- Suppliers with poor credit ratings
- Small regional companies that cannot provide competitive pricing
- Suppliers with poor reputations in the industry
- Suppliers whose agreements are difficult to understand and whom are not flexible with payment terms, products offered, or general contract language adjustment requests
- Suppliers who have not been in business for 3 years or longer

- Reputation for a Transparent & Fair Process: Suppliers know that even though we squeeze their margins, our process is fair. We are agnostic on who wins our auctions as our job is to work for YOU – the customer. Just as important, our customers are NEVER under any obligation in our auctions to award to any supplier. If a customer wants to award to third place finisher in an auction, that is fine. We simply inform the winning supplier why this occurred. This transparent and honest approach has led to very strong relationships and allow suppliers to bid with confidence in our auctions.
